ANDERSON — Gerald C. “Jerry” McGuire, 66, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014 at St.Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.

He was born February 28, 1948, in Anderson.

He graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1966 and was a lifelong resident of Anderson. He retired from Vectren in 2010 after working there for more than 40 years. He was a member of the NRA and was an avid outdoorsman.

Jerry was also an outstanding athlete, liked motocross, was a race fan, a fine artist and enjoyed music. He loved coaching kids.

He is survived by his parents, Patricia West of Anderson and Charles “Bob” McGuire of Anderson; daughter, Suzanne (John) Bundrick of Marion; sons, Brian (Lisa) McGuire of Kearney, Neb., and Thomas P. McGuire of Anderson; grandchildren, Drew McGuire of Anderson, Taylor McGuire of Kearney, Neb., Joshua Walker and Stephanie McGuire, both of Ft. Payne, Ala., Tristen Spinks, Nevaeh Spinks, Madison Bowers and Abby Bowers, all of Pendleton; long-time companion, Mary Bowers of Anderson; Mary’s children, Michelle (Fred) Spinks of Pendleton, Adam (Misty) Bowers of Pendleton, Meghan Bowers of Anderson; and a host of great friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Madison County or Arbor Day Foundation.
